I totally relate to this. I took what I am calling a creative sabbatical from my day job nearly 3 months ago. I have worked consistently on my latest novel but I done next to nothing on all the other things I had planned to do.

However, I have been healing from a very bad mental burnout so perhaps this is no bad thing. I like your suggestion of taking a bit of time out after quitting the job. The only problem with this is that resistance might creep in and momentum plummets. That "bit of time" could become a lot of time. That's why you (and I ) kept writing (albeit not as much as we thought) and didn't do this. So we should pat ourselves on the back, accept our shortcomings and just keep plodding on.
